There are two ways to connect to Shambala. One way is to use telnet, but most telnet programs are difficult to use for a MUSH, so it's not recommended that you use telnet.

The other way is to download a MU* client, which is software specifically designed to provide an interface for connecting to MUSHes (and MUDs, MUCKs, MUXes, MOOs, and MUSEs). Most MU* Clients are freeware or shareware, available for download on the internet. The following is a list of MU* clients, based upon what operating system you are using.

Windows 98/95/NT/3.1 Windows Resources for MU* Players
Recommended if you're new to MUSHes: SimpleMU
Macintosh: Rapscallion
Unix/Linux: Tinyfugue

When you set up your MU* client, use the following information to connect to Shambala:

IP Address:shambala.mudshell.com
Port:5055
